Remove that computer virus!
We start with computer virus issues by doing essentially the same things we do in a computer cleaning, but knowing we also have to get rid of some virus files. So we usually end up doing things in a slightly different order. We’ll scan your computer thoroughly for general viruses, computer spyware, general adware and those nasty rootkits. We go through startup items to ensure that we find where the malware is launching and understand how it’s launching. We remove it – period. We only declare your computer clean when we’ve worked with it and truly satisfied that everything is running the way it is supposed to be. No failures, no surprises – just the way we would want it for ourselves. In many cases, we can even do this all in the same day if you get it to us early!
What should you be looking for?
The best thing you can do to be aware of viruses getting into your computer is by just knowing how your computer normally performs. If it normally takes a minute for it to boot up, and your computer for some reason takes 3 minutes to boot, you probably want to keep an eye on things. Don’t disregard it.
If you homepage is Yahoo and it opens up to a new page that you haven’t seen before, you need to start scanning your computer. There are a lot of programs out there and we suggest you get a good antivirus program on your computer BEFORE you get a virus. If you try to put on an antivirus after you have an infected computer, you’re going to have issues. Many times viruses will block access to most antivirus websites so you WON’T be able to download anything. In addition, there are a LOT of programs out there that come up on search engines when you start getting excitable and typing in “free antivirus software” that really are NOT antivirus software and will only compound your problem.
